ROB
2 daughters

Rob grew up with his family in the eastern United States. The family spent many joyous weekends and summers at their cottage. Rob’s father was an involved parent and kept a keen eye on school work insisting that Rob keep a B average.

At age 28, work lead Rob to the west coast of Canada, where he became a father. Rob permanently moved to Canada and became a citizen so he could stay close to his daughter. Eventually Rob met and briefly lived with a woman who would become the mother of his second daughter. This is the woman who continues to deny him access to his daughter. Rob is completely involved and dedicated to being a father to his daughters, both under the age of 10 when this documentary was filmed. Rob married his current partner in 2004 and continues his struggle for custody of his daughter.

JEFF
1 daughter, 1 son

Jeff was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1969 and lived there till the age of five. In the mid seventies Jeff and his family moved to the west coast. Jeff has fond memories of off road motorcycling, fishing, hiking and salt chuck boating with his mother and father.

In 1994 Jeff met the mother of his children and a year later they moved to the interior of BC. In 1998 they decided to have children and their daughter was born. Their son was born a couple of years later. In 2002, the couple determined that the relationship was over and Jeff moved out. In January 2003, unsubstantiated formal allegations of violence were made against Jeff.

During the making of the film in 2006, agreements of visitation and support were made by both parties. Jeff believed that the ordeal was almost over. Despite the considerable cost to Jeff, the agreements have never been signed. Jeff continues his struggle for fair and equal access to his children without fear of retaliation.
